3M™ Splittable Flying Splice Tape 8387 is an engineered adhesive tape designed for high-performance splicing of film and foil webs during high-speed printing and coating applications. 3M™ Splittable Flying Splice Tape 8387 has a high-performance adhesive developed for splicing a variety of films such as low surface energy (LSE) or high slip materials – LDPE, BOPP, and PET.

3M™ Splittable Flying Splice Tape 8387 consistently make splices at high speeds in printing and converting applications. 3M™ Splittable Flying Splice Tape 8387 has a high performance adhesive, developed for splicing a variety of films such as low surface energy (LSE) or high slip materials – LDPE, BOPP and PET. This tape splits into two single-sided tapes – a process made visible by the independently tinted under laminate and over laminate. In order to best identify the splice components, the tape splits into a pink layer and a grey layer. It has a fibre-free construction, which eliminates the possibility of small pieces of tape or butterfly tabs breaking off or sticking to the rollers or CI drum. 3M™ Splittable Flying Splice Tape 8387 lays flat for improved handling and clean splicing. Additionally, it utilizes film, which is far more reliable than paper-based splicing tapes.

Suggested applications
  • Use for flying splice applications on film and paper substrates
  • Flexographic printing
  • Film processing, film lamination, and converting
