3M™ Stikit™ Soft Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad, 05568, 8 in (20.32 cm), 1/Case

The 3M™ Stikit™ Soft Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad is an abrasive disc for sanding large areas of paint down to metal. The pad adds cushion and conformability to 3M™ Stikit™ sanding discs. The soft density foam with a 45° tapered edge closely conforms to contours and curves to deliver a uniform finish and minimise rework.

Use the 3M™ Stikit™ Soft Abrasive Disc Back-up Pad to achieve smooth, controlled sanding on contoured or delicate surfaces. It is ideal for auto and marine body sanding applications. The disc backup pad is designed for use with a coarse-grade abrasive sanding disc, and has an inch of soft foam to ensure a soft, fine scratch, while the tapered edge flexes for continual contact with the workpiece. High density foam reduces vibration common with large rotary sanders, increasing the clarity of the finish and improving operator comfort. These features help produce an extremely smooth, even foundation across the sanding area to make the repair process easier. The vinyl face of the pad securely holds a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) disc. The 3M™ Stikit™ system was designed for convenient disc changes between grades or applications. Our Stikit™ discs come ready to use with a high-quality PSA coating on the backside so that attaching them to the disc pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker, yet they remove cleanly from a Stikit™ back-up pad. Stikit™ discs tend to provide a more aggressive cut than do our 3M™ Hookit™ products. The maximum RPM for this pad is 3000.
