NU-DERM™ Alginate Wound Dressing

3M™ Nu-Derm™ Alginate Wound Dressings are indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exuding chronic wounds and to control minor bleeding in superficial acute wounds. This dressing is designed to be fast gelling and helps to allow intact removal.

3M™ Nu-Derm™ Alginate Wound Dressing comprises a sterile, non-woven pad consisting of high G (guluronic acid) alginate and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) fibres. This highly absorbent dressing forms is able to absorb 18 times its own weight in fluid which quickly forms a hydrophillic gel at the wound surface to create a moist wound environment. In vitro data demonstrates that dressing tensile strength is maintained when wet1 - this may facilitate intact removal and minimize the need for wound irrigation at dressing change. 1 Late T, Parker D, Del Bono M, et al.
