3M™ Layered Viscoelastic Damping Polymer is a 2 mil (0.05 mm) thick adhesive with a dual film liner used for low outgassing and ionics. This soundproofing material has a typical temperature range for good damping of 32-149°F (0-65°C), allowing it to offer good thermal performance for long term applications at moderate temperatures.
3M™ Layered Viscoelastic Damping Polymer is made from polymer-based materials and are useful in many engineered designs. The damping polymer was designed to help reduce vibration and shock problems in electronics, appliances, automobiles, and aircraft. The versatile materials can be adapted to a wide variety of applications including constrained layer dampers, multi-layer laminates using metal or polymeric films, free layer dampers, suspension dampers, shock and vibration isolators, panel, pipe and wing dampers, wall panels, and more. The damping polymer is a highly conformable tape that is also chemical, moisture, flame, and weather resistant and helps with UV degradation.
